Hello Gents,

Can you give me any suggestions to upgrade from my current 16" wheels to 17" or even 18" wheels, with the corresponding upgrade in tyre sizes for a 1997 x308?.

Thanks so much in advance...

I used a set of stock XK8's on my x300 VDP .. keeping the originals for winter tires. When I got my 98 VDP I used the XK8's as winter -- same when I moved to my 02 XJR. Any of the various wheels on the two cars will work.

16" = 225/60r16
17" = 255/45r17
18" = 255/40r18

I just remembered the X-308 has such a plate for wheel and tire sizes which is attached to the underside of the front central arm-rest ...

Quote: 16" = 225/60r16
17" = 255/45r17
18" = 255/40r18

Should remark that you have some more alternative sizes on the above.

And some (XK8/XKR) 18" come in staggered setup, with wider tires in the rear, which work beautifully on a XJ8.

Have not searched recently ... but historically there were not many aftermarket wheels that fit Jaguars. In my area wire wheels were popular for the X308/ XK8. The dealers would switch them out for delivery -- my local dealer had just about any stock rim ... called them take-offs.

I bought a few sets
