Remove the long rectangular dust covers from the center of each valve cover. The coils are underneath, and beneath each coil is a spark plug.

I'd guess the fuel filter. You may want to drain the fuel out (you don't know how long it was parked) when you do and add some injector cleaner and octane booster in case low grade gas was put in (you won't be able to siphon all the old gas out).

This only one item you can find on the JTIS CD... well worth downloading or buying one from EBAY

Default update on misfire problem.

First off I'd like to say thanks to all of you for your help and suggestions. Today I removed the dust cover from the coils and noticed there was lots of moist and some water on all the coils and wires. Apparently due to the upper corner(near the firewall) of the cover being broken were the bolt goes in since the bolt is not grabbing anything. I removed the coil from cylinder 8 and noticed it was wet at the spring that contacts the spark plug. I cleaned everything and swapped the coils from cylinder #7 to #8 to verify if the coil was still good. I turn the engine and went for a drive and immediately noticed the misfire was gone and car ran like new again. But then I went to Autozone to have them plug the scanner but the scanner still showed cylinder 8 misfire amongst other codes which did not show up before. I'm assuming the cylinder 8 misfire code was still present because the code needed to be reset? Is that correct? Well I had them reset the codes and the engine light is been off after about 10 miles so far. Now, any recommendations before I take the car for MA state inspections? Thanks again.

Good job newuser, if the misfire is gone, thats great news. Get another dust cover and make sure your coils are protected from moisture...they're sensitive.

Drive around for a little while, my mom's misfire came back after a several days (her coil pack was drowning in oil for awhile) and eventually had to be replaced.

The code would have eventually been cleared by the car after several drive cycles, but clearing it manually just speeds things up.

I'd get it inspected while she's purring.
