I know this is on the edge of tacky VIP build territory, but I would like to install proper VIP style curtains/drapes in the rear seats of my XJ. I am am an experienced seamstress with plan to make my own curtains out of luxurious material, but am unsure about the rails to install.

I know these must exist, as they appear on heads of state type cars (though perhaps factory options on a century/rolls/etc?). After deep web digging, only cheap examples seem to be available.
Has anyone done this silly mod, or can point me to a supplier that does this kind of outfitting? Don't want to wade into this unless the integration is seamless-ish.
my apologies, I am referring to drapery style window shading - optional equipment in various generations of rolls royce. I have always thought the roll up screens look cheap even when they are original equipment on luxury models. The Japanese style "lace look" available on the Century would be fun to play with - but I have not found an aftermarket option for these either.
to any future searchers with the question, a cheap amazon option does exist -
Ok, that is definitely a better perspective, thank you. Making a window box frame seems inevitable to prevent destroying the door card. I'd say making new door cards to allow it to look natural and inset a rail for a better finish scenario.
I have British Autowood about 30 minutes from me that could make the trim. I know a couple members on site who have shops that use Saul. I have a custom shift knob he did awhile ago I purchased offline, that's how I found out about him. I went and visited him once (super nice dude) has a backyard shop and he offered to refinish and customize my trim with my initials and some fancy scrolling. At the time I wasn't sure if I was going to keep the girl, now I can't let her go.
You can check his work out at Britishautowood.com, he does RR and Jag amongst a couple others. I can also get you his contact info if you like, just PM me.
