Default FRONT Massage Seat Availability

Hello All - I am new to this forum and looking to make my first Jaguar purchase. One thing that really interests me about the XJ (besides the looks) is the availability of FRONT massage seats. I have done some basic research but am having trouble figuring out exactly which trims of the XJ include the front massage seats. What I have been able to figure out is that 2015+ models use rollers rather than inflatable air bags so right off that bat I'll be looking for 2015+ year XJ's.

So does anyone know which 2015+ XJ trims have the front massage seats?

Thanks!

I checked the XJ brochure from 2015, and its pretty vague, but the way its worded makes it seem like it is a stand alone option available on any trim, but it doesnt seem to be part of a package.

That being said, the brochure didnt seem to indicate any packages besides rear seat stuff and the sport/speed packs. Unfortunately it doesnt look like you can just go by trim, cuz anything from the Portfolio to the XJR can have them added as an option.

My understanding is that Portfolio models had them in the front as standard, along with more adjustments (14-way) and seat cooling.

There's a lot of drivel out there in car reviews, but this from Edmunds for 2015 models seems to be accurate, as far as I understand :

"Adding to the base XJ, the Front Seat Comfort package includes heated and ventilated 14-way power front seats with massage functions and front passenger seat memory settings. The Portfolio package yields those features plus a faux suede headliner, dual-zone automatic climate control for the rear seats, heated and ventilated rear seats and extended leather upholstery."

Portfolios will always have the Front Seat Comfort package as standard.

Be aware the in the XJR you CAN'T get massaging seats.
They are not available. Only the special R seats which are not available in anything but the XJR..

My 2014 5.0 Supercharged has the Front Seat Comfort package and the Portfolio package but its just a regular XJ Supercharged so I guess those package could indeed be added to any trim.

Thank you all for the help!

I ended up going to a Jaguar Dealer and they said over the years that the standard features, packages, trims, etc changed a lot from year to year such that there is no way to know for sure if a XJ has massage seats other then physically getting in the car and turning on the massage function.

Front massage seats looks like this (look on top):

front massage seats with winged headrests

And without massage:

seats without massage with ordinary headrest

There are different combinations:
seats with massage with embossed jag logo
seats with massage with ordinary headrests
and finally with massage and winged headrests - the best one )

My 2011 had massaging seats but it also had rear picnic trays, so it didn't look like your first picture.

My 2013 SuperSport does not have winged headrests and I have message seats. Winged headrests are usually on the XJL and not XJ. Best way to know if they are fitted is my the brochure for that year and the seat control switch and a selection on the center infotainment

If you have the selection of "Front Seats

and the Message control is at the bottom

the oval button top center controls the lumbar support area

I can't say for sure which 2015+ models; I have a 2014 Portfolio AWD and I have front seat massage (driver and passenger). As a standard, it may be the "Portfolio" edition.
