Default Rear picnic tables

Hi all, just a quick question. Would these picnic tables that fix on the back of the front seats in Daimlers and posh Jaguars fit onto my XJ^ base seats? From what i've seen my seats look different to those with the tables on, but i've only looked at slightly dodgy internet pictures so it's different to tell.

Cheers all.

Ah - picnic tables. Sitting in the back enjoying a cool glass and a nibble. The front seat occupants recline their seats slightly and you wind up with the whole lot in your lap!

As far as I can recall, the seat frames are the same with only the trim and electric functions making the difference in the options. Provided you get the whole squab backcover and not just the tables, it should be a straightforward swap.

Would it be safe to say that this option isn't true for the XJR seats, or is their internal structure also the same?

I put VDP seat backs with tray tables in my 2001 XJR, no problem.

Thanks for your replies chaps. Would XJ8 (X308) tables and seat backings fit my XJ6 too? They look the same. I'm considering buying some from the states as they seem to crop up quite often over there, whereas you very rarely see them available in this country.

Cheers.

Please pardon the resurrection of an old post, but I've been looking for a post, or a link, to a pictorial that I've see where someone updated a regular x300 seat with seatback from a VDP with picnic tables.

I've looked and looked, but can't find it again.

Anyone?

Thanks!!

This is a 308, but should be basically the same procedure.

The S-type is a completely different styled seat,so that would be no.
