STR has more/less the same setup as the X350 XJR, both 4.2L. Throttle body towards the front. As I understand it's a different ECU, but may well be programmed with the same language & a lot of the tune for the 4.0 XKR/XJR might be copy-paste for the 4.2's...

This thread has peaked my interest, if a simple plug-n-play tune for the 4.2L STR/XJR is on the table, well i'm waiting in line mate!
well tell ya what i have a buddy with a junkyard tht has a str wrecked in it ill see if I can borrow the ecu and have my guy look at it and see what he says if its close enough then should be no prob

Ahhh tuning that's my cup o tea

As i live in Sweden and the fuel were using is slightly different from yours I'm wondering if the "crack" is possible to get a hold on so i can let a local tuner work on it.

I know of a company here in Sweden thtat can work magic with highly tuned enginges

I'm running a lower pully uppgradeand Mina backboxes on my 2001 XJR... Have some issues with fault codes.. P0101 P0103 P0420 P1111 the thing is when the MIL is on it can go away after driving the car for a longer trip it will then go of again.. Car runs good but when you get it high up in the RPM's ut will cut out completetly just before gearing..

I have changed the MAF and the replacement one had a different number on it. Ends with BB insted of BA... or AB.

The car didn't cut on high revs before changing out the MAF but i had the P0420 code alot.. After changing the MAF i have only got it one time..

Somone here have som tips for me.

The car runs good and pulls strong only got problems with the MIL and the cutting on high revs. The cutting feels like I'm bottoming out the MAF and it did so even before i changed the pulley..

Default Any news?

Just found this thread today, read all the way through it, was sure it would have an address and a dollar amount to send an ECU to, and then it just....ended. I got really excited about this because of my little bit of knowledge of tuning of rice-burners, was hoping for the same flexibility with Jags. So, anything new, and/or has this all gone into PM land? Mainly replying to bump the thread.
Thanks,
Mike

Default Killer Tune-up

I read this post recently, and although I have not had my 1999 Jaguar XJ8 VDP tuned, I have had my Chrysler Crossfire SRT6, and a previous Crossfire Tuned up by a Company called "Eurocharged". The contact at this company is Jerry Thornton, a great guy, who has done many of our clubs Crossfires. He and his staff, handle mostlySpecialty cars, Mercedes, Masarati, Fararri, Lamborgins Etc. and many other top end cars. He and his staff flit all over the country doing Tune-Ups, and also have facilities for remote Tune-Ups. His Company is based in Houston, Texas, but if anyone would care to give him a call and ask about Jaguar Tune-Ups, I am confident he would be able to accommodate them. He may be Contacted at 630-496-8660 (Office) or 312-446-6326 (Cell) and has a Web Site "www.eurocharged.com which gives a lot of information.
Please mention the Crossfire Club referral, as we at the Crossfire Club are all very freindly with Jerry, for the work he has done on our cars. Hope this info is helpful.

The tune is still being worked on just been working on a lot of things so its taken a backseat while I get all these other projects taken care of but as soon as we have a perfect tune ready for use then I will post it up I dont want to throw out an unsafe untried tune. We will be giving a few guys a beta tune to try and get feedback on soon and from there just a few tweaks and it should be ready.

Archangel? It will be a long wait (by reputation) but typically worth it.

There is still hope! if things work out it will be worth it. Thanks for helping our crusade for more power that is left in the ECU. Paul

Nope, not possible to get from\ XJR-0220 as he repeatedly turned out to be a completely F.O.S. snake in the grass. He has never delivered on anything promised.

He ended up getting banned from this board.
