Well I broke the jag again

Well I broke the jag again
I raced a turbo Subaru on to the freeway, I got off the throttlearound 100 and the serpentine belt came off. The belt didn't brake but I saw somepossible melted plastic on the belt so I'm thinking one of the idle pulleys mite of gone bad. Is there a common pulley that goes bad on these cars?

RE: Well I broke the jag again
Greetings,
If there's plastic on the belt, you must have a '98 or early '99... the later setup uses steel pulleys for both the idler and the tensioner. More likely the idler pulley, on the passenger's side of your engine, has failed. The factory has upgraded the replacement to a steel version.
If you just replace the idler pulley, you need the early spec. serpentine belt. If you have to replace the tensioner pulley with a steel one, you need the later (slightly longer) spec belt.
Contact me privately if you need any help with obtaining the bits. Best wishes,

RE: Well I broke the jag again
The quick street race went well, from about 20mph - 100mph I pulled ahead of him by about a car length but towards 100+ I could see him start to catch up. The jag did pretty well for being a stock lux sedan VS a fixed up semi sports car, other then the jag getting towed homeand all.
It turns out I totally melted the tensioner pulley, so I went ahead and changed the other pulley and belt also. I will attach a few pictures of the damage and new updated metal pulleys and belt. Upon installing thetensioner assy the bolt did not seem to screw in very well, to be on the safe side and not mess up the threadsI used WD-40 and slowly worked the bolt in and out until it felt right. I still don't have any TorqueSpec's for that tensioner assy, can any one help me out with that? After the installation I could hardly hear this engine running vs before.
I saved a few bucks getting the parts from car quest vs the dealer.Besides I had the feeling the dealer mite of sold me the plastic pulleys. Here are the PN#s and prices that I paid.
Micro V-Belt PN#: RBR K070916 $51.67
Idler pulley PN#: WPC G60201691660E $34.38
Tensioner Assy PN#: WPC G60011351820E $82.66
