Default What is correct replacement wiper blade for X308?

In the past I have tried:
Valeo 600 series 600-21, Premium Tec-3
RainX
Weather Beater Walmart
Piaa 95053 Super Silicone 21”

Based on a post here on JF from many yers ago, I just bought
Bosch Automotive MicroEdge 40721 Wiper Blade - 21”

Every single one of the above blades do NOT contact the X308 windshield at that final 1”.

I do not recall if my original factory blade had the same issue.

The new Bosch blade seems to wipe well w/o streaking or chattering.
What do you use?

FWIW, here is a removal & installation video for the Bosch:https://aviondemand.com/product-know...-installation/

Running 21" Bosch Pure Vision here. Thus far it's leagues beyond the Rain-X offerings I've used before.

Does if fit to the windshield that last 1", where most wiper blades do not curve enough?

It annoys me to buy a complete wiper blade when only the rubber is worn and aftermarket alternatives for many Jaguar models can be physically the correct dimensions but fail to contact the glass over the full length.

For those who still have OE wiper blades, Jaguar do list the replacement rubber separately for the X308 as P/N GNB8961AA.

I've been using Bosch Icon 21" for the 2 years I've had my L. No coverage or wiping issues whatsoever, and until March my wife was daily-driving it on Chicago expressways year-round. This year I think I'm going to try the new Bosch Focus. Supposed to be really nice, and only a couple bucks more expensive.
As an aside, I replace my blades annually no matter what on both my vehicles. It's not worth trying to squeek another season out of them...

Been using Bosch Icons on all cars the last few years: worked better than any other. Last set on my 2017 Lincoln were not as good as previous versions (streaks, noisy/screech, missing last inch), but probably because they have introduced a new FOCUS.

Best wipers blades I ever used were Land Rover OEM from the dealer: pricey but worth it. Was told they were Bosch produced; never verified it.

Been a Bosch Icon user myself for many years. I have a RainX on her now, works good, just doesn't cover as Graham notes on the "A" pillar side.

Another vote for Bosch Icons. I like the clean, sleek look, and they do a good consistent job. I have them on all my vehicles and they last as long or longer than others that I've used. They seem very quiet compared to other wipers too, but that's probably just my imagination.

Edited to add: the Bosch Icons don't lay down at the edge of the glass. I think if they added more down pressure out there or tried to curve them more, it might cause the middle of the wiper to want to lift and not do as good of a job. It doesn't bother me, but if it bothers you, you might have to keep looking. I don't remember if other wipers I've used had the same issue.

I think virtually NONE of the aftermarket blades’ last 1” curve enough to lay against the glass.

I suppose I should just judge the blades by how well they wipe & how long they last.

Jaguar did at one time sell the inserts in the USA ..... that was a long time ago. It was complete assembly after that.

I use the Denso blades from AutohausAZ -- Denso is my go to replacement on any car where inserts are not available. They work well on the X300 and are not very expensive ..... it's a good add on when i need something to hit the free shipping

I bought Bosch Evolution Wiper blade 21" #4821 from FCP Euro.
Bosch website states this fits 2000 Jaguar XJ8

The blade looks like it has more of a curve & would contact the windshield at that last 1".

However, I am unable to install it!
The paper instructions are useless, as is typical.
I have seen many YouTube videos But still can't get it.
I need that internal part that fits into the inside of the “J” to swing out. It doesn’t.
Or an extra ½" space in order to align my J hook so it is a straight line with the part that goes inside.
The curved, convex part of the J contacts the inside, open, plastic hinge so it is at an angle & will not fit over the wiper part that should fit easily inside the J.

Have any of you successfully installed this wiper blade?

Images for Bosch Evolution will NOT fit X308.
The issue is the Spray nozzles (rectangle) block the proper installation of this wiper blade.
you can see, in the photo I took, that this spray nozzle prevents the wiper blade from remaining parallel & moving closer to the new blade so it can they be pulled into lock position.

Inserts are still available (item 3) from JLR:

I always used these on my X308 and XK8's but they've stopped listing wiper rubbers separately on later models. Strange decision in a World now prioritising recycling.

There are many wiper blades that fit the X308.
I posted bc Bosch claims this one DOES fit.
I thought, possibly, another JF member has used the Evolution successfully, due to some work-a-round.

I doubt it.

Typically we rely on manufacturer's fitment information for our specific cars, assuming they have actually tested it.

I received the Bosch ICON 21A that I had ordered from FCP Euro & installed it tonight. Thanks to several members who posted that this one fits the X308! I had watched the 21A installation video & saw that you can pass the hook through the gap created when the wiper protective cover is opened.

The last 2” of the wiper rests on the black plastic at the base of the window! Does it rest there for all X308s? See photos of my dirty car (must park it outside)
I tested & wipes just fine.

21A installed

Close up

IDK WTF is up with the upland of photos!
They are good when preview but after I post...ruined.
Each JPG is < 250 KB in size.

Update: I was about to post the photos @ 50% size but, now I see the pixelated photos above...are fixed.

I’d move the arm up one spline so it doesn’t rest on the plastic.
