Sounds great considering the factory H.U. is still pushing the main speakers, subs are on their own 500 watt amp. I'm having issues(how to skip to next disc) with the changer due to no instructions lol. I'll get some pics & maybe video w/ audio, I'm pleased thus far though. Now if I can just figure this heater issue out lol.

Going back in a week or so to (hopefully) finish the boot off. Once it's all done I'll post up a proper build thread for everyone, because the pics don't do justice to all the work that my guy has put in

1st time in days the rain's subsided so I can check the fuse for the heater core's pump. My device's search interface is erratic so I hope I can pull up the thread with the tips lol.

don't worry, I'm as eager for updates as you are!

Trying to organise transport for Sunday so that I can drop the car off for the final fit-out, which means the sub will finally be in!

It'll take a couple of weeks to get finished, and then in mid-April I'm getting together with a few other audio guru's to do a proper tune, ie setting gains correctly and playing with the eq and Time Alignment to get it sounding it's best, so there's still a bit of waiting to go... and I STILL haven't worked out a plan for the headunit

This car may be back on Craigslist soon lol. Heat situation is beyond frustrating as I can't find an accurate under hood fuse box diagram to troubleshoot & every image from here or Goggle is clearly different.

I know it's either the fuse, the heater motor or the by-pass valve. Guess it's off to get pillaged @ the shop. If this is the way of the Jaguar walk, I think I may stay on my Infiniti stroll lol.

Today was a good day for my Jag.
Replaced front ball joints, bushes, link rods, one tie rod and tie rod end. also the supercharger oil, here is how supercharger oil looked like at nearly 78k miles XJR- just like very good morning coffee, no milk and bad smell

400 european cash and a smile on my face, until i realize how much I need for more repairs.....

I've been in your situation before waiting on a full blown custom system. Sometimes I wanted to choke the installer because I felt he was dragging the build out to get a few more $$$$'s.

I've sold off a huge chunk of my car audio equipment knowing my taste is changing. I have 2 brand new MS-8's sitting in their boxes-perhaps to be used in future products or meet their fate being sold. Only time will tell. I'm waiting on my slash 1000 to return from JL after being fitted with a new board. I am unsure of what I will do with the Jag audio setup but I'm sure it will be simple.

Good luck to closing end on the finish line of your project and post pics when you have them.

How does the MA's bass transfer and sound in the Jag's cabin? Any rattling that's a distraction or is it a nice smooth and hard kick down? Thanks

No rattling what so ever, the lows are crisp & clean but not overwhelming as I only have 500 watts running though them. I wasn't looking for boom to rattle the block or shake the car next to me in traffic lol just nice lows.

Thanks
I could possibly be keen on one of those MS-8's in the future too... so keep me in mind if you do ever sell.

While I'm obviously still waiting to hear the final result, I must admit I'm loving the box built into the side of the boot. If I was to run a 'normal' sub with the motor on the inside of the box, then I would still have plenty of boot space left over.

I went to fetch mine from my parent's where he has sat for a month. Started on the first turn of the key, drove home 25 miles in the wind, rain and hail with perfect performance. Currently sitting on my drive making the curtains twitch.

I replaced the FEAD belt and automatic tensioner -- ½ hour job, got rid of the chirp!

Like your style Mike, the easy ones are the best. I didn't drive mine yesterday, but I gave it a wash and polished the glass. I drove to work this morning and en route to the depot the car shone amongst the dirty commuting cars.

Installed an iPod adapter so I now can run my Alpine sound with my iPOd with virtually unlimited music!

I've been scared to do this for many years, but I finally talked to a company that I had some confidence in, and it turns out that they knew what they were talking about - ergo! - piece of cake!

It is very nice.

Next step maybe - speaker and amp upgrade?
