Question What parts need to be replaced when converting from RHD to LHD

Well it's been a while since I've got my XJ from UK... and almost from the first day I was thinking about converting it and "putting" the steering wheel at the right position (actually at the left).

Yesterday I found an X308 at a scrapyard in very good condition and the owner offered me a good price for the parts with the deal that I'll give him my old parts that I'll replace. The funny part of the story is that here in Bulgaria there maybe twice more Jags with Right-Hand Drive steering wheel because they are cheaper

My question is - can anyone tell me what parts I'll have to replace during the procedure? At this moment I have the following list:
- The entire dashboard, without the steering wheel and the airbag module for the passenger and without the middle part (the central console);
- All the pipes for the A/C;
- The steering rack module;
- Accelerator and brake pedals;
- Handbrake;
- Front headlights (low beam);
- The door module for opening all windows + side mirrors control panel.

I'm not sure about wiring and if they are going to fit? Anything else I should consider? Maybe the wiper?

Have you thought about the swapping over of the front end looms so they match the dash harness? Nice big job! Once you get the dash out, you'll need the mounts that go with it. Not sure if the modules relays connectors are siamesed behind the kick panels.

I'd be comparing rhd/lhd looms to confirm what's what. It'll also make it clear what you need electronically. Pictures of under the bonnet, and harness part numbers will help.
Is it the same model year, that's the most important thing. You might need to re-prog a couple of modules, drivers door, IPK etc...

This is a job of staggering proportions that unless your particular car is VERY dear to you AND you MUST have LHD is best left undone. Just the thought of re-plumbing the brakes and exchanging the dash and wire harnesses makes me shudder like a puppy pooping a peach pit.
Labor, even at a very modest rate, will exceed the replacement cost of the car. I would wager a project like this would be the ruination of your car and soon abandoned.
You'd be far better served by changing cars.
