Default What's the Easiest way to set crankshaft on tdc ?

Hi guys I want to change primary tensioners and chain guides . Now I know I should lock cams on both banks with the cam locking tool which is not expensive tool . Now what about the crankshaft?
Can I just put mark on the crankshaft and check piston number 1 if its on the highest point ?

What's the easiest way to set the crankshaft timing ?

This is not easy to fit plug in the CPS location i don't even know where is that sensor that looks complicated. Now since my timing is okay can I just use marks by pen or its risky?

There's at least a couple PDF's on timing chain replacement, and many threads on it. Timing tool kits are pretty cheap on ebay too (70 bucks or so last time I looked)

Here's the link for the PDF procedure from the forum's large files section that goes over the process in detail http://www.mediafire.com/file/wnuacw...ement.pdf/file
