I am hoping they stopped in the US in 2000. I am hoping to find a 2000 Vanden Plas in amaranth purple.

The best photos I've seen of it are in a thread entitled 1998 Jaguar XJ8 Vanden Plas Amaranth Cat gets some loving on these very forums.
It appears to be a very striking color under sunny lighting conditions and a relatively "muddy" one otherwise. This is based upon photos out there and coming from a person who absolutely loves purple as a color.
The only reference to this color I can find (see here) says it was introduced in 1997 and ended in 2000 for Amaranth Pearl.
