Default Why should you check/change the tensioners??

Some of these parts were preventative maintenance but some were the results of the failed tensioners. Some of the failures resulted in bent valves but others just needed the parts replaced and retimed (LUCKY).

These are just some of the last few years of my 'failed timing components' bin.

I recommend at least checking for cracking plastic tensioners, but...........

The whole tensioner issue should be a recall by Jaguar.

They should have stuck with the system on the V12. Pictures from V12 owners show that they are blessed with a double chain.

My supercharged VDP has only 45k miles, it is not even getting started again untill
all the tensioners and chains are replaced.
