Wife's 2000 xj8
on my wife's x308 we have a problem with the back lights on the radio climate controls and clock.they all went out at the same time. everything still works, would just the bulbs all have gone or is there a relay for all. any suggestions thanks jrb53
May be a headlamp/multi-function switch or solder connection at switch bad. I had the same happen.
Underneath the steering wheel. It is the switch on the end of the turn signal/light Stalk. You have a dealer or good independent you use? Otherwise Google steering wheel removal which will send you to many threads -- most end up with multi function switch or clockspring repair. There are cautions on the airbag!!
Good, I was concerned when you asked the location. Go to the stickie that has the wiring diagram, one spot has wires to dash and radio lights to turn them on when outside lights are turned on. Best guess, the wire to the center consel (radio et al) is broken off; nasty soldering -- but doable. Replacements switches are available on eBay. I had to resolder the wire supporting auto headlights -- used locking pliers to hold switch still for surgical soldering -- lucked out, clean solder first effort.
