The windshield on my 2003 XJR has strange vertical streaks which look like they are IN the glass? They can be seen clearly on a sunny day from the outside of the car. Interestingly, they can not be seen when inside the car looking out through the glass..... A pro windshield guy looked and was baffled.

Anyone seen this on your cars ? is this a peculiarity of the glass used in Jaguars ? Any replies appreciated,

 

Possibly a heated windscreen, which was an option on these cars.

The heated screen elements look like a very fine set of wires inside the screen in a zigzag pattern. I can see them from inside under some lighting conditions.

A Front windscreen heater switch is also a giveaway

Ronco1, you are not looking at the windscreen whilst wearing polarizing glasses are you?


These type of glasses can make the heat treatment of glass visible.
