I've had Amco, RainX, Bosch ICON, Michelin "hybrids", and some other thing I forgot...
so far, the Rainx was always fairly good. My new best friend in the wiper world
is Bosch Excel + blades. They perform about the same as RainX ones, but the meet the
windscreen for a lot better coverage, the high arch is ideal for our single wiper set-up.

It looks just right on the car too. The new-style blades lift 2"+ off the windscreen,
these Bosch ones are the closest to 100% coverage I've had yet.

ExcelPlus

Cheers,

Ian

Jaguar only sells the whole blade -- and they work the best ... but obviously they are a bit more money.

You need a soft blade with many supports so it will follow the windshield and -- not scratch it ... yes scratch it .......... the first thing you notice about many used Jags and MB for that matter (with one blade) is the scratched windshields from the wrong wiper blade.

You can get the replacement rubber -- I have found them at autohaus -- they are the exact same german rubber -- but they don't always have them and free shipping is only after 50 or 60 bucks. But you still need the OE frame.

I have at least four now that I refill when they get the correct rubber - Have not needed to get the OE for a few years.

The OE blade will have "Germany" someplace -- check the clip. It has insulators at every joint ---- look for "SWF" ... this is the manufacturer. The rubber will have a letter/ number on it. If you see any other US name on it is not the OE

I used to be able to get the SWF rubber but have not been able to get them -- The Bosch boxed european replacements that I got from AH looked identical.

If you look at the excel design -- you will see the rubber design is similar.

The wiper with the correct blade works very well -- but they don't last as long.

I could see "Bosch" from inside the car -- forgot to take a closer look when I got home. Will check tomorrow when the sun comes up!

Valeo/SWF ....... are connected in some way ... I don't know the particulars.

When you can get the correct refills they are not very expensive - two in a box -- I think the blade is around $25-30 .......

On mine with a single front blade, I use an Anco Contour or whatever blade. Its the flexible, one-piece design. Also, if your blade isnt torn, you can clean it with a cotton ball and alcohol and "renew" it.

I buy the Valeo/SWF blades at Coventry West online and they run about $15.00 and are the OEMs that clean the best and I've tried them all on my 2001 XJR that i have owened for 11 years.
