Work about done,one question
I installed the new headliner and it turned out great, also rebuilt the sun roof removing the frame and all, it turned out nice as well. I installed the new timing chain tension units and that job went pretty smooth. Question?
When I started the engine it started and ran very smooth but each time I would rev it up there was a low rattle from the right bank, this went on for a short time then quit. Now! do I have a problem or does it take time for oil to make its way into the unit. By the way the units that I removed were in very bad shape both cracked and the top slide on one was broken and the other was gone with the chain riding across the metal top, checked for chain wear and was OK. If I hear the rattle again I will tear down the right bank again. Thanks

Congrats!
We should have a special star for those that have replaced their own tensioners.
I was at a Jaguar meet and someone mentioned that I had changed my tensioners. Wow! several were impressed. No big deal. Only a little more difficult than changing plugs.
By the way, model year and miles please.

Thanks,
1998 XJ8 VDP with 121K and after seeing what shape mine were in, my motor was a time bomb about to go at any time.I would recommend any one with the old tension units not to put off the change (it is a peace of cake to change)
