Default Wow... Haven't seen a Super VDP for sale in awhile...

53k miles and in phx? Hell, if I was still in the market ;p...

Jaguar XJ Super Vandenplas (only 53K)

Now somebody talk me out of doing something stupid. I already have my jag... I already have my jag...

On the plus side, I like the XJR's looks better - never did like the regular VDP grill.

Indeed. Although, on a super VDP given their rarity I'd just leave the grill alone.

I don't need it. I don't need it! My XJR is -fine-. 58,000 miles and beautiful inside and out.

It's funny how you can search for months to replace a jag, finally find one, and the second you do buy it some REALLY appealing vehicles come out of the damn woodwork.

XJR, did you talk to the guy with the one in PHX ? I did because it bothers me he puts Rolls Royce in his ad. He is flipping the car IMHO. Really doesn't know what he has but wants all the money for it. If I were you I would verify history and his "story" before considering. I like the Super but I have never been a green color lover so given that and his babbling on about how the car is better than anything ever built I decided to pass. Good luck though and let us know if you pull the trigger.

Nah, I decided to stick with the car I have.

I mean, mine is a more or less flawless XJR with stupid low miles and I've been over it end to end, so I don't really have any reason to change. There was a twinge of "want" when I saw the super VDP pop up, but honestly, I already own my dream car... I did find the whole "rolls royce" thing odd in the add, I'm assuming he added it to keyword pad, trying to draw people in. Or maybe he has no idea what he's talking about.

And I like the look of the regular XJR better. Mine looks damn good on the road (although, I still miss the black on black XJR I was sandwiched in - even though it was a million degrees inside it and required twice-daily washing to keep the damn thing clean).

My thoughts exactly!
Frankly, if you want a rarity, it should be the LWB witht he individual electric and heated rear seats and a decent quality window tint that lightens and darkens according to light.
The rims are standard Starbursts as well.
He tends to rabbit on a bit ;o)

Black XJR is not that bad, saves some time in summer still, I easily cook a breakfast and heating up my milk on the roof while driving to work... sadly the AC stopped working, little worried now about not getting cooked myself soonish...

The car itself looks fine, IMO. But the owner is what would scare me away. He says he lost his license. What could he have possibly done wrong to lose his license? And how much wrong has been done to the car? I can just picture him doing donuts in the parking lot with this car. Again, this is just an opinion.

Most likely, he aged out. Some states are tough on the elderly. -- as they should be.
