x308 bad starting S/C 4.0 V8 engine

Message from The Netherlands. I have a x308 Daimler Super V8 S/C from 1998 and a cold or warm start provides a 5 to more then 10 second fear if the engine is going to work or not. After it starts no engine problems of any kind. Any idea's?

get a compression or leak down test..

hmmm, the engine runs like a dream but the start is the issue. You think that it could be compression? I would expect that also during driving the car I would feel someting or even see a blue tail?

well if you have no oil staying on the walls.. then you wont have good compression on start up after a few cranks piston rings lub the walls to seal the chambers..
or check fuel pressure to verify the fuel part is good. battery low?

OK, so why does he the cold start normaly goes well and the warm start is most of the time the issue? Battrey is OK I think as it provides enough power to get the engine running. How can I check the fuel presure in a simple way? I thought this wouldn't be the issue as driving isn't a problem.
