X308 Garage door opener problem and programming
I had my garage door opener programmed to button 1 of the 4 buttons. While I was driving today I heard a click sound like something dropped on the center console and later found the plastic button for the garage door opener for #1 to be missing. Could not get into the garage. Can't find the button in the car. I would like to program the other buttons to work on my garage door, but it seems like you need the #1 button to do this. Any thoughts. Can I use a small screwdriver to activate button #1 somehow. Does anyone have instructions to program the garage door opener? Thank you.
That assembly comes down real easy, open the sunglasses pocket, then take a dime and turn the plastic screw looking piece in the roof panel about a 1/4-1/2 turn and it will drop down...its just a T bar. The front part toward the windshield is just a couple spring finger clips that act as a load when putting it back in.
Other than that, once you start to pull it down, go slowly, your #1 may be laying in there or down between the seat and tunnel.

I used to ANGER the service manager AND the customer when I was asked to find the info from Jaguar Service info to configure the GDO.
I would go into the glove cubby and find the owners manual. I would then go to the office and ask to use the copy machine to copy the relevant pages.
I then folded the copies into the pages of the manual and set it on the passenger seat.
The service manger told me that the customer was NOT AMUSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"Please don't ever do that again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Seek and ye shall find.
(I seem to have a subtle way of P!$$!NG people off.)

I would suspect that the missing #1 is along the seat rails on the left side. I have a vacuum that shows all the crap that gets sucked up. Great for finding quarters. I think if you hold down #2 and #4 at the same time, you will clear out #2's memory and you can then program #2 to open your garage. But you will probably need to review the manual (sold the car, no longer available for research) for managing rolling codes, which all new garage doors have.
I was able to reprogram both my #2 and #3 buttons (just in case one of them falls off). I guess I never programmed them before. It does take a lot more time to program (holding the buttons down) than you would expect. I have looked for the #1 button for about 15 minutes, even getting on my head and still can't find it. I presume when I vacuum, I will hear it getting sucked in. Would be nice to have that clear vacuum. Thanks.
