X308 power steering fluid - Which one?
I plan a power steering fluid full flush - I know how - but which fluid? (X308 1998/99 3.2L)
I checked the internet: Dexron III
I checked the part of the owner's manual called "Vehicle care" page 19: "Top up with Dexron III".
But the car (and thus the manual) is 23 years old. So my question is:
1. Is it still the prevailing wisdom to use ATF Dexron III here as power steering fluid?
2. Just any Dexron III? Can I use the Multi Vehicle ATF (Nulon SYNATF, full synthetic), which I decided is not good enough for the transmission (and which I have sitting here now)? They "claim" it can be used ilo. Dexron III...

Just use something that meets the specifications of Dexron III; multi-vehicle atf, so long as it claims to meet the specification, should be fine. I used generic Meijer branded Dexron III and I've had no issues yet. Make sure you've got a vacuum pump of some sort. I mouth-siphoned mine out and found myself coughing for multiple days.
Thanks asdf. Don also wrote the same: Multi-vehicle-Dexron III-ATF is fine for this purpose.
Yes, I have a couple of transfer pumps, if I need them, but I plan to let the Jag to the work of pumping the old fluid out.
