Default XJ Sport Fuel Filter? Where is it?

My 4.0 Litre Sport, which I bought about 3 months ago, is from New York. So, the car underneath has some rust, but none on the body or in the engine compartment. I would like to look at the fuel filter to see if there is any rust or any "undesireable additives" in that fuel filter. I have no idea where the fuel filter is. Can anyone tell me? It is getting brilliant fuel economy (27.5 i saw at 59MPH avg), so should I even mess with it since it is performing so well? Thanks.

with such figures, leave well alone. If you look under the car, left hand rear wheel arch, and follow the fuel lines back towards the tank, you'll see the filter tucked up onto the chassis with a bracket.
