Hi everyone, I have a 2000 XJ8 4 litre, and have dismantled all the phone apparatus, but there is still a nasty beep on my stereo on start-up; the display says "Phone" and it interrupts my stereo. It's annoying the hell out of me. Does anyone know how I can disable this please?? Thank you, Guy

 

have you got the handbook? I'm pretty sure there's a setting in the hi-fi to enable/disable? I'll have a look later when at home to see and post back...

 

Try pressing the radio "AM/FM" and "Eject" buttons at the same time, that should enter radio setup. Then press radio preset 4 and see if it won't toggle the telephone off and on. Then turn the radio off to save.

If that doesn't get it, repost.

If this doesn't work, unplug the connection between the phone hardware and the harness under the center console storage compartment - 4 screws removes the compartment and the 10 pin connector is directly underneath.
