Default XJ8 1999 intermittent power problem

Ever since we bought the jag we had this intermittent problem of it having no power at all. You park and come back and nothing happens. It's like the battery is dead. So I pulled the cover in the trunk and checked the connections by pulling on the two main cables to the battery and then the car could be started.

We had the battery checked out and it was bad. Now even with a new battery it happens every so often and when I wiggle the cable from the battery to where it connects at this "connection plate" at the trunk wall, I have power again.

I found a thread on here that somebody had similar issues with a "connection stud" in the engine compartment.

Anybody experience anything similar?
