XJ8 codes p0442, p1384, p1229, p1642

XJ8 codes p0442, p1384, p1229, p1642, i got a 2002 engine put in my 1999 xj8, and i am getting these codes can someone please help, do i need to worry? just spend a lot of $$$$, Thanks

P0442 = EVAP (system) leak detected –small
possible causes:

Fuel cap seal defective
EVAP system leak (canister damage, pipework damage)
EVAPP valve to ECM drive circuit open circuit, short circuit, high resistance
EVAPP valve power supply circuit open circuit
EVAPP valve to engine purge pipe damaged / blocked / leaking
EVAPP valve operating vacuum hose leak / blockage
EVAPP valve failure
Fuel tank leak

P1384 = VVT solenoid malfunction –A bank
causes:

VVT solenoid valve to ECM PWM drive circuit fault
VVT solenoid valve to ECM ground circuit fault
VVT solenoid failure
VVT oil flow fault
VVT / camshaft mechanical failure

P1229 = Throttle motor control circuit malfunction
causes:

Throttle motor disconnected
Throttle motor to ECM drive circuits short circuit or open circuit

Throttle motor failure

P1642 = CAN circuit malfunction
causes:

CAN short circuit fault
Control module failure – check for additional flagged DTC(s) to locate control module source

Can you give a little more history? Some Qs:

- Has this car ever run with the engine change?
- Who did the changeover? Someone who knows these cars and the AJV8 series changeover in 99?
- When the AJ27 was installed, were the electronics moved as well?

Basically, you have codes all over the place and I assume some of the answers to my Qs are that it has not ever run with the new engine and you've changed over from an AJ26 to an AJ27, probably trying to run the 27 on the 26 ECM and TCM?
