Now it's only 13000$, which is pretty cheap And even if the tranny is broken it's not a big deal.
But maybe someone knows typical failures of the mercedes tranny? Like "if you get an incorrect gear ratio and stuck in 5th gear - go get an A-drum and valve body" for a 5hp24

 

For $13k?? Wow, I guess I've been out of the Russian market for too long. If you feel$13k is a good deal, which is the vibe I'm getting from you, then I think you made he decision already. Just to put it perspective for that kind of scratch you'd be looking at a MINT condition '02 or even a decent x350. Can't imagine anyone jumping on the seller's deal even in Russia for a 15 year old car that spent good several years on Russian roads. Keep in mind that in Russia, just as in US, used Jaguars are not common. It may add to exclusivity but its a good indicator that the demand for the Jags is rather limited.
