XJ8 Intermittent no start

Before you change the starter relay. Take off the battery connections and clean both the terminals with a wire brush and the connections. Even if they look clean,you can get corrosion that causes a no start condition.

And you may want to try starting the car with an alternate key if you have one, in case this is an issue where the transponder is not reading the key you regularly use.

I've also seen the bulkhead stud at the passenger side of the engine become loose and cause that problem.

Scrim, re read JagtechOhio's post about the key. In case you missed it again..........yes the key could be the problem.

See, all I try to do is give the guy a simple step to eliminate a possible cause, and look what I get back. Starter diapers, I say change the babied starter's diapers.
