ok, Chris, I am about to post a link about the throttle butterfly stick may be what xjack said but I have been trying WOT etc etc for a while now so I was surprised to find it stuck
now can you post to me a photo of the bad coil-coils
as mine are all firing ok I believe.
today after trying to start it there is a very strong smell of fuel
so I removed the relay again to the pump
tried WOT tried normal start, then checked fault codes and there were none.
I am really running out of possibilities
the only thing left is timing and that I don't know how to check Top Dead Centre no1
my days are on distributors and rotor buttons
and not about to spend more money on cameras sorry
No, it is not stuck if it moves with ignition off, can you move butterfly with the accelerator pedal while key in on position?
Does it still loose the fuel pressure immediately after shut pump off?
Xjack the butterfly seems fine now how long it has been stuck your guess is as good as mine.
the fuel pressure seems fine 44 drops to 36 odd then 44 on cranking
sounds like a girl I once went out with haaaa
back to job keep focused Dutchy
mobile1 excuse my lack of terminology what are iacv and egr and the fuel pump lead link, please?
now the original problem was an engine noise at the rear bell housing
so I took it to the transmission shop that did the original rebuild trying to find the noise
they said they removed the box and all was ok
they believe the noise was in the exhaust system as when you revved the engine it stopped
SO
I am wondering what they (electrically) may have disconnected or played with on the box or exhaust that may be causing this trouble
even though I drove it back home and into the driveway, it has never restarted
yes, I am starting to clutch at straws.
Your TB is fine. When you switch the ignition on, you cannot move the throttle because it is then controlled by an electric motor inside the TB (the humming sound you hear from the TB). It seems that you were trying to start the engine with the air tube disconnected from the TB. The engine will not start in this way as there is no air flow through the air flowmeter. You need to connect the air intake tube to the TB, and connect everything else, then try to start the engine.
yes you can not move the butterfly the humming is from the electric synchronous motor I would think
yes the air intake was disconnected so I could see what the TB was doing, I did try with the air intake connected and made sure the fault codes were cleared
M.S I don't want to go down the road of timing covers and chains ect I really don't see why there should be a problem with that as it drove into the driveway
I did a post about the reason I took the car to the transmission shop.
thanks for what you are trying to do I am sure you and others fell my pain
regards Dutchy

A chain could have skipped on the first attempt to start the engine after it was sitting in your driveway. It is not difficult to check the cam timing. Remove both cam covers, rotate the engine slowly by hand and see whether all the flats at the fronts of the camshafts align at certain position of the crankshaft. The flats at each bank should align parallel and facing exactly up in relation to the plane of each head.
If you find any flat out of the described position, you should do a compression test to see whether you have any bent valves (or you can do a compression test first).
so where is the other relay in my diagram? it is not important at the moment any way? so i am swaping the ac and start relay and the ign and coil relay not that it will make a difference
