Default XJ8 Power windows and locks issue

Yesterday my wife told me when she got in the car and put the key in the door locks went up and down (stuttering) about 10 times and then stopped.

I drove the car home and did not notice anything unusual. Today I noticed that the front passenger window will not go down from either the master (drivers door) or the local (passenger door) switches. Further when I depress the rear passenger switch from the master nothing happens. When I depress the rear drivers window master switch, both rear windows go down or up.

Another problem which might be related is the inability of locking the doors by depressing the door lock (actual lock thingy that sticks up). If the door is open and you press it down it locks all the doors but immediately jumps back up as do all the other locks. I can lock it from outside with the key or the remote key chain (if I stand right next to the car, hold my tongue to the right while pressing the key chain button several times) or with the key. I can lock it from within with either depressing the thingy, pressing the lock button on the door or driving the car (they lock automatically).

Any help on this or thoughts on how to make the key chain remote work better (i have replaced the battery) would be appreciated.

Perhaps the car's electronic logic would benefit from a reboot by disconnecting the battery for a minute. That would be a good time to check the battery voltage. Strange window operation is a first sign of voltage that drops below what the modules can tolerate. How old is the battery?

Default Battery seems fairly new

I had a hard start condition and the battery certainly held up to numerous crankings. I tried the battery disconnect but it did not seem to help.

What is the battery voltage under cranking load? Less than 10v charge or replace the battery.
