Xj8 rust repairs
Hi all I'm in the process of repairing my rusty xj sport 3.2 2002!, I was in two minds weather to scrap her or keep her?, but I do love driving her! And when I looked at production numbers they seem quite low 1108ish?, and it's a late build so seems to have most gadgets ?,so I've made a start with the repairs and getting there slowly(it's gone in all the usual places!), so having to make lots of panels&pacthes. It's proberly been covered before?, I was just wondering how others have delt with the lack of affordable panels and would welcome any feedback or surgestions?, cheers guys

Have you checked in The Marketplace for folks parting out cars?.... top left task bar, 4th from the left.
As for the body repairs themselves, have you also checked the underside for frame and/or bushing damage? You may be talking more money than you realized?
Your obviously not in North America (NA), we didn't have a 3.2L option.

Re-rust repairs
Hi high horse , thanks for the input, yes I do source as many parts from(breakers ) where possible!, as you can imagine there are plenty!, however as for body panels most are there because of the rust!, so I've chosen to make what I can?, I do have experience of body repair and restoreration. But that was in a fully equipped shop!, this time I'm in my garage on the floor!, as for the extent of the rust I've repaired the front rails(which were the worst!), using like for like thickness!, all bushes and mountings&aball joints replaced as a matter of course.this is my daily driver so I'm not building a show car but want as good and strong as it can be, just to add all repairs are fully seem welded (it may not be pretty but there are good welds!) many thanks,

Hey Len, I wasn't speaking of the breakers, I was speaking of other members who were parting out their cars for whatever reason in "The Marketplace".
Have you also listed your inquiry in The Regional section? Perhaps a local chap or two may be able to assist who doesn't come in this forum and has that local knowledge you endeavor? ... https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/regional-34/
Its nice you know how to weld and have body work skills ...with a steel body car, that skill will be helpful for what your doing.
