I have never seen a trim code on the steering wheel. You just have your trim code on the drivers side door. I was trying to say that salvage yards will just list the trim code of the vehicle from where the wheel came from.

 

All steering wheels originally came with stickers attached identifying the color code. Here are two AEK's and one LEG.

Edit: The steering wheel color code won't necessarily match the interior color code listed on the door jamb. For instance, my SDZ (cashmere) interior uses an AEK (sable) steering wheel.

 

I just found a trim guide online which lists colors for the various trim codes. The steering wheel wrap color should match the upper facia color.

Just bought a steering wheel from eBay, thank you DavidB for posting those "thumbnails" they really helped me confirm the colour I required.
