Hi all, just wondering if anyone can help me out, i have a 2000 Jaguar xj8, my instrument panel has engine management light on, ABS light on, Brake warning light on, no speedo or rev counter, no mileage display, the fuel light stays on, gauge was reading nearly full but now sits on empty, no Temperature gauge. The car is also hit and miss on power when driving, sometimes it feels like its in limp mode, it wont kick down, then on the other hand it goes like a Rocket with so much power it will spin its wheels no bother on pull away, any idea's will be most welcome, i have read that the instruments can go down on these cars, would it effect power? Hi Pete
I weak battery can cause many strange effects, so I would start by making sure it's fully charged and the many power and ground connections are clean and tight.

Your car is a X308 so will get more responses by posting on that forum, or maybe one of the moderators will see this and move it.

 

As RJ237 suggested, you need to post in the proper forum section but TSBs (that nobody reads) can help with the diagnosis.

Yes i noticed its in the wrong section, i did find the pdf on the CAN failure, going to have a nose at the instruments as soon as i can, still wondering if it will throw the car into limp mode?

Did u figure it out Pete? I’m there and no solution in sight. Just put in new instrument cluster but nothing.
