I am getting ready t0o replace upper rear shock bushings on 2000 XJ8 and need to know if a road spring compressor is required or can I just disconnect the half shaft and upper mount?

xxxscimitarxxx, I tried the link you provided for the rear shock bushing replacement but it would show any pics/vid. I did get some info from the captions though. Still isn't too far from what I already thought; I've done loads of work on series 1 & 2 XJ's and I'll be okay. I might practice on the parts car and see what to expect.
