XJR 100, a little on the pricey side?

Not when you can buy this one for half the price.......

Looks nice in the small pictures and coming out of the sunshine state it may in fact be nice underneath.
Pretty low miles as well which is harder and harder to find.
The 100 has some nice upgrades over the vanilla XJR but in the end this is more badge engineering than anything truly special.
I'd be amazed if these were worth even close to half of this but maybe the seller is looking for one of those people PT Barnum talked about...
In the end it'll have all the same brittle plastic and cracking rubber parts to deal with so hopefully the next owner will save some money for those inevitable repairs!

If you're a Jaguar collector it's the one to have in the X308 range. I do think it's optimistic or possibly just too soon for the OP's linked car to be that figure, although a Euro spec' car sold in Holland for a similar price. Badge engineered or not, limited run Brown's Lane cars are classics with the XJR 100 being the very last off that production line.

Maybe he doesn't really want to sell, but getting pressure from the wife. Or maybe he got permission from the wife to buy it in the first place by promising that it would go UP in value. (How many of you have said that?) Then again it may be he's just trying to scare away the tire kickers and curiosity seekers. Buyers who aren't serious can make it a hassle, arranging to show the car only to have wasted your time. But it works both ways. Can't remember how many times I've driven hours to see a car and it doesn't live up to my expectations (even detailed online pictures can be deceiving). I certainly wouldn't want to travel very far thinking the seller might also be an unreasonable negotiator. But maybe I've missed out on some actual good deals by ignoring asking prices over 125%. I'd be curious if there were any studies/statistics on how often a seller actually accepts offers less than 75%, 60%, 50% etc.

GTO or goat?
Good catch Mr Smirks! Along the lines of my badge engineering comment the world (at least the part our POTUS wants to make great again) is awash in clones and unauthorized copies of GTO's (judges too), shelby mustangs, and plymouth superbirds.
