Default XJR Auxiliary Drive Belt

Good evening,

I have having a problem sourcing what should be a simple part: the main auxiliary/accessory drive belt for my 2002 XJR-100.

I plane to do the complete timing chain and tensioner job soon, so naturally wanted to purchase a new aux belt. To me this is just standard procedure, the same as buying a new filter when you replace oil. Therefore I thought buying one would be easy. Alas.

Looking on the site I use most, BritishParts, I find:

Belt - NCA2211DA | Jaguar XJ8 X308 - XJR, Jaguar XK8 - XKR | Jaguar | British Parts UK

But this states it's only for engines up to 1999, So I'm guessing the AJ-26. I asked the guys there and they told me I needed this for the AJ-27:

Belt Supercharger Upgrade Kit - NCC7739ACKIT | Jaguar X150 XK - XKR, Jaguar XJ 2003 - 2009, Jaguar S Type, Jaguar XJ8 X308 - XJR, Jaguar XK8 - XKR | Jaguar | British Parts UK

This confused me more as it's just a supercharger belt (which wouldn't fit as I'm enlarging the lower pulley) and no aux belt.

The story is the same on other sites, I can find aux belts for the early cars, or supercharger belts for the late cars. What changed? Does an normal XJ8 belt fit?

Any help greatly appreciated.

I changed the aux belt recently, on my 02 XJR. I used this one :

Serpentine Belt Dayco 5070923 | eBay

No problems.

Thanks,

Unfortunately I'm in Switzerland, so would be looking for anything available here or in UK. Searching that part number only gives me US available items.

Try Ebay UK or DE.

Try brit-car.co.uk (not britishparts.co.uk, they're cheaper but don't communicate very well).

Try Amazon.de or co.uk.

Try rockauto.co.uk.

Use Amazon.com to find equivalent belts part numbers for different brands.

I just ordered Gates for my XJR from Amazon USA > Dubai, UAE via Shipito. Amazon won't send car parts here direct. Rockauto.com (usually has cheapest prices online) apparently will but watch the shipping costs if ordering more than one different part from different warehouses.

Consistently reliable drive belt comments I found were for Gates or Goodyear.

Gates and Goodyear part numbers for XJR X308 here ...

Gents,

Just to sign this one off in case anyone stumbles across this in the future with the same query.

Jaguar part number NCA2211DA is correct for ALL X308 XJs.

Most websites will say it's only up to '99 with the plastic idler and that the later Rs need to spend £200 to upgrade to a different tensioner setup. This is untrue.

I hope this helps.

The confusion is partly caused by the fact that the supercharger belt design did change. They went from a supercharger belt with one ribbed side and one flat, to one where both sides were ribbed. Thus the need to change some other parts.

However, I'm not aware of any change to the aux belt.
