The well-preserved factory x308 XJR Asteroid wheels I've seen have a remarkably sparkly, almost glittery, bright silver color that shows very well in sunlight. I don't recall seeing this wheel paint on any other European or American car.

I've not been able to locate a source for a duplicate Asteroid paint color in spray cans, or in small quantities for wheel refinishing.

Is anyone aware of a source in the UK or the USA?

I have found that the metallic silver wheel paints from Wurth and Rustoleum are close matches to most factory Jaguar wheels, but it sounds like these Asteroids may have a larger metal flake than most wheels? You might try automotivetouchup.com to see if they may have something. They also have acrylic lacquer and urethane clear coats that work well over the Wurth and Rustoleum base coats.

I have a local shop (Olympits.com) that did my Penta's about 5 yrs ago and did a wonderful job. I was actually there today asking him about doing my full size spare I picked up last year. He strips and rebakes the finish for $100 ea. I'm sure a local rim repair place can do the same for you.
