Default XJR engine swap 2001 to 1998 problems?

Hi,
I have the possibility to buy a good 120000km XJR with blown engine (Nikasli) and could buy a 2001 low mileage donor 46000km with good mechanics. Are ther problems to swap the engine and gearbox form a newer to an older XJR?

Are you swapping over the ECM as well?

If not, you will have to retain the camshaft sensors from the old engine. There are also differences in the ignition and throttle body. That's probably just the start.

I've done the opposite with an XJ8- the (intake IIRC?) cam is different- just the reluctor. The flex plate is DIFFERENT, so you have to swap that out- untold pain and suffering will happen if you do not. The rest should be a direct fit- you will have to swap out the throttle body, possibly the manifold and the coils from the 98 TO the 01.

I will defer to others who have done an actual XJR transplant though.
