Default XJR R1 Option front hub replacement part

My 2003 XJR R1 (Brembo brakes, etc.) is going through left front wheel bearings. It would appear to be a distorted hub causing the issue. The standard Jaguar part catalog lists this part as MMC1837BB. Jaguar service departments have the same list and give the same part.

I do not believe this to be correct. For one thing I know that the studs for these hubs do not fit my current hub. For another, many after market parts specifically say "excluding Brembo brakes". Also a refurbished hub from: XK8 XKR Refurbished Front Hub and Vertical Link MNC1628AA MNC1629 | Jaguar XK8 and XKR Parts and Accessories also says: XJR 4.0 v8 (does not fit XJR's with the larger Brembo brake). Is this because the verticle link is drilled differently?

Can anyone shed some light on this? I need to get the proper hub and bearing.

Regardless of the braking system, the same hub is used.
What is different is the vertical link.
On Brembo equipped car the holes for the calipers are threaded. Not so for the regular calipers.
You can use, as I did on my XJR, the earlier XKR Brembo Silverstone calipers that have an adapter bracket and therefore require no threads.
If you have the Milan wheels, the regular studs should fit since its what I run on my 01 XJR

Hi jlib99,

You might want to download and install the Jaguar Electronic Parts Catalog (EPC). See this thread:

Full Jaguar EPC for download - Merry Belated Xmas!

I just took a casual look at the EPC and don't see a listing for the XJR, but the standard hubs have a 76.0 mm diameter bearing and there's a listing for an "Other Option" with an 80.00 mm diameter bearing, which may be what you need. You can search the part numbers by your VIN.

Cheers,

Don
