Default XJR rim recommendation needed

Bought this 99 Xjr and wondering what rims would look good, someone recommended going with OEM from a newer Xjr on eBay. I couldn’t find any. Any other thoughts?

I found these ones below. Very stupid question probably would my current tires on the OEM rim fit these new ones? Wheel specifics:

19 x 8.5
30 mm offset

The later rims were called Asteroids, and in my opinion they look much better than the earlier Penta rims, which is what you have. My 98 also had the Penta rims, so I replaced them with refurbished Asteroids. I bought them through Auto Rim Shop online, but that was a number of years ago. The part number for Asteroid rims is MNF6118AB. Google would probably know if anyone still carries refurbished ones. Again, my opinion only, but I think the Asteroid rims look the best on our XJR’s, even compared to aftermarket rims I’ve seen. They just fit the overall look of the car.

Edit to answer your specific question: OEM’s are 18”, so no, your OEM tires would not fit the aftermarket rims you mentioned above.

You could look for some of the factory bbs the x308 and x100 cars came with. Or, keep an eye out for used bbs, hre, or see what what new wheels cost. BC forged makes really stuff at reasonable prices. Not cheap, but reasonable.

I sold a set of some Milans out of a rusty R1, easily the best wheels for these cars. Really wish I kept them.

I was trying to put Coventry 18 inch in them but apparently it wont clear my brake calipers. Wondering other people in this forum did when it comes to the wheels for the XJR from 99 to 2003?

To each his own I guess. I always liked the pentas better than the asteroids, they seem to lend more to the understated hot rod in a tuxedo nature of the XJR. The asteroids always looked a bit out of place IMO. Either way this XJR has a great stock appearance and even seems to have the blacked out rain gutters from the UK model (unless the light is playing tricks). Personally I would leave it as is, the designers knew what they were doing. Just my two cents.

I like the Asteroids but I'm not sure they clear the Brembo calipers on the R1 package, being 18x8.0 rather than 18x8.5 on the BBS Milan wheels.

It was for sale like a year ago. I'm relatively new here. But that car seemed pretty sick to me. In a good way.
