I have a 2002 XJR with the Mercedes 722.6 transmission, does the connector and connector plate need to be changed out when doing a full fluid change ??

Default Maybe ...

Here's the TSB so that you can check the connector while you're under there:

If the connector isn't leaking and there has not been a transmission fault I would just change the filter and fluid. Those are fairly common problems but are not universal.
