Default XJR transmission oil

Hi can someone give me the right transmission oil for my 2002 XJR? I need to do a trans oil change, thanks.

Shell ATF 134 is what I use, but there are others.

Ryder Fleet Products online usually has the best deals.

Yours has a Mercedes Benz transmission, so if you want genuine, you'll need to source it from a MB dealer, but I'm sure there are other fluids out there that can perform the same.

For my 2000 XJR local official Mercedes service told me it requires 236.14 fluid. And that is what I got ie. Fuchs TITAN ATF 4134.

I don't know if your 2002 requires the same but here is Mercedes 236.14 approved fluis list:

Fin - is the Fuchs titan cherry red like the Merc stuff?

Yes, that is a good desription for it's color. To my understanding all 236.14 oils have same color.

This is what the old one looked like.

Valvoline Maxlife ATF works well.
AMSoil Universal ATF works well also.

A filter change, pan gasket, and electronic plug seal would be a good idea.
