XJR (X308) Reverse problems / issues (lights, parking sensors, dipping mirror)
Hello all!
This is my first ever post so by all means feel free to educate me if the need arises
When in reverse my 2000MY XJR doesn't work the reversing lamps, the parking sensors or the passenger dipping mirror, to be honest I'm not sure if they failed all at once, or separately.
I've checked the fuses but I'm assuming there's a problem that's common to them all?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Paul
PS I only have a little knowledge but I'm happy to crawl under a car and have a tinker if I feel equal to the task, please keep it simple as I am in no way familiar with today's motor vehicles systems.

I'm sorry Randy, I forgot to mention that I'd checked the modules and cleaned the connections with electrical cleaner before securing the connectors with small cable ties.
Would a faulty sensor cause all three problems?

When I brought my 01 XJR home I had a problem with the dual linear switch failing on me, which put the trans into a gearbox fault and limited performance mode. One of my symptoms was that the reverse lights would no come on and they did when I replaced the switch...not much of a stretch that the thing that turns on the backup lights is the same thing that dips the mirror and turns on the backup sensors. If you look at your gear selector, does reverse maybe not light up, but the other gears do? If so this might be on the right track, the switch may need a cleaning.
Worth looking into, but I'm new to Jags so take what I say with a grain of salt...there are some super experienced mechanics here.
