XKR Hub Removal

Hi,
I have just bought a 1999XKR which need the rear wheel bearings changing. I have stripped it down to the point of removing the Hub. I have used a conventional hub puller but it just wont budge. Do I require a special puller or is there something that I have omitted to do.
Thanks
John

I'm presuming you mean that the nut is removed, and the halfshaft splines are stuck inside the hub?
Keep in mind that you can always remove the hub carrier/ hub/ halfshaft in one chunk, and mount the carrier in a press to push the halfshaft out of the hub splines.

I have a flange-type puller that mounts on three of the wheel studs, and has a large center screw for the end of the halfshaft. There have been more than a few times when that wasn't enough.
Carefull warming up the hub with the puller snugged down might help: I don't know for certain whether the splines on yours were locktited, they might be.
One interesting footnote on the subject: about 10 days ago I shipped a complete hub/ carrier/ halfshaft assy to a tech who was repairing an XJR (6). The halfshaft splines on the car he was repairing were twisted..at least that's what he told me, I had never heard of that before. Wouldn't that be a treat to get apart with a puller.
