1988 XJ6 Sovereign Parts Car
Have the chance to purchase a 1988 XJ6 Sovereign Parts, asking price $1400 will offer at least $1200. Is this a decent price for a parts car for my 1988 XJ40. The ad does say low kilometers I just do not know how low.
What are some of the key parts that I would want to go after.
What about some of the electrical components relays fuses etc.
Parts that I can take off and possibly rebuild.
Maybe even parts that I wouldn't really need that I could resell on ebay or something like that.
Hopefully its a vacuum braking system for my hydraulic leak problem.

1988 XJ6 Sovereign Parts car
If a series 3,how many parts are compatable with your XJ40?. If it is an XJ40 maybe the question should be posted in the XJ40 forum.

Hello Clarke, not sure what time zone you are in but I am on Pacific Time.
Hopefully you get this before I wake up and make my way to give a deposit.
A member convinced me that I had a 1988 XJ40. I joined the forum before receiving the vehicle. Looked it up and found out that it is an XJ6 from England.
That being said, does 1988 XJ6 compatible with a 1988 sovereign.
Thanks

An '88 XJ6 is known as an XJ40.
The other badging, Sovereign, Daimler, Vanden Plas etc are simply that.
The core car is an XJ40. You mention "hydraulic leak" and that is PURELY the XJ40 cars.
I think that the XJ6 has confused many a member, as it does then go on to the X300, and reappears again with the late X350.
As this is the "Series" XJ area, it is not the correct area for a 1988 XJ of any badging.
Fear not, no harm done. repost in the XJ40 area, and if you are real lucky, one of the Moderators will move it for you when the time zones align.
