Hi. I just got a beautiful 1988 black XJ6 in great shape. I love the car but it diffently has some issues. I was hoping to find some answers here to fix my problems. So the first one I can think of is the VCM screen is not working. Not the gauges they still work just the screen for the warnings and trip computer does not seem to light up or work. Anyone have any ideas what might be wrong? Thanks

Finding a 1988/89 display screen that works properly is getting harder to find. You might be glad it is dark as most of the time it displays low this and that fluid or pressure.

It is a common fault.

Some have even posted about replacing it with a 1990-1994 instrument pack and rewiring the connectors to operate properly.
