It's the fancy version of the XJ8, just more bling and amenities. The body (except for a bit of trim) and drivetrain are identical.

The above advice about the XJ8 still applies. The VDP is the same as the base model with an upgrade on trim options.

I think they mean its a fancier version of the XJ6 (aka XJ40). However, I'd stay away from the 88-90 models, as they are known to have numerous electrical issues.

Did they replace the electrical system with a better one on XJ40 from 91 - 94?
