1990 vs 1992 purchase
Hey guys, I currently own a 1992 Jaguar XJ Sovereign with 72XXX miles. Car needs absolutely nothing and I have done a bunch of updates on my own. But now I found a 1990 not too far from me with the same color scheme but with almost half the mileage and the wood trim with the vanden plas gold lines. I was curious what everyones opinion was? I know 1990 was the first year they changed the car and made some upgrades over the previous unreliable years. Has anyone had experience with 1990's? Any idea of whether this is a good idea? Thanks in advance!

There are really only three iterations of 6 cylinder XJ40 in the U.S.
1988/89 3.6
1990-1992 4.0
1993/94 4.0
The 1990 is EVER-SO-SLIGHTLY different from the 1991/92 models.
The 1992MY has no changes from the 1991MY. We got electrical guides every year and the 1992 electrical guide was just a cover page to include the 1992MY.(same 3 ring binder content)
If there are differences from 1990 to 1991/92, they are very minor.
