Default 1994 jaguar xj6

I have 1994 jaguar xj6 4.0 that bought. I drove it home and the battery light was on then it went off . the next morning it wouldn't start jump it off made about a mile and it shut off again, change the battery and wouldn't start at all put a new alternator on it still no luck , I have a snap on solus edge 14.1 but no port to hook up can anyone help me thanks.

The car has a built in code reader - switch on ign, don't crank press VCM button- if there's a fault code it gets displayed where the mileage is shown. These cars are odb1 so your scanner is of no use.

Default ive check the vcm

I fixed everything the vcm said but was just a couple blown fuses, and my scanner is odb 1 capable and I have the full euro kit with it

You might look for a diagnostic connector in the trunk near the battery (I think that may be where it is). We'll all be interested to hear if your scanner can read the Jaguar-specific codes.

Check the downloads in the 'HOW TO' quick links thread on the home page of this XJ40 forum. I think the XJ40 Diagnostic Troubleshooting Guide is available for download there, and it may specify the location of the connector.
