Default 2.88 diff

Hey ..
been looking for a 2.88 powerlock diff for my manual xj40 jaguar...
Seem few and far between at the moment but have heard it's possible to interchange older series internals into the later xj40 casing..
Can anyone relate
Much appreciated

Hi Nathxj40,

Welcome to the Jaguar Forums! It's great to have you with us!

You don't provide your location or even the continent where you reside, but if I recall correctly, the Powr-Lok differentials were not common in the U.S. Some of our members may recall which early models came with 2.88 Powr-Loks. When the 4.0L cars were introduced in the U.S. in 1990, the differential ratio was changed (to 3.54, for example), which gave much better acceleration off the line, at the expense of the engine running about 500 rpm faster at all speeds.

When you get a chance, please visit the New Member Area - Intro a MUST and post a required introduction so we can learn something about you and your Jaguar and give you a proper welcome.

Cheers,

Don
