Default 2nd Fan Making Noise - FIXED

I have a slight problem with my Jaguar XJ40 , it's not a big deal though . The problem is I have been a hearing a buzzing sound from lower fans , you know we have two propellers the upper bigger one is coming on when you start your engine and the 2nd one which is located lower is coming on when it gets hotter ,right .
The problem is that sometimes as soon as 2nd one comes on , I hear a strange buzzing like sound ,it sounds like a cappuccino machine lol
Ampermeter is normal , engine temperature is normal no overhating .
What might cause this problem ?
Thanks

Hi Caddy,

The electrical auxilliary cooling fan on these cars fail often, and alot of the reason is because they come on so rarely. I often find them locked solid.

Of course you might get lucky and find that the propeller is stirring something up, but the noise is likely internal in the motor and there is no standard fix for it. You can try squirting penatrant in it by any possible means, or disassembling the fan motor to see if you can effect repairs, although this motor is not made to come apart.

I think that if you live in a climate where the auxilliary fan is running often, that means you need the cooling it provides and I'd want to make sure it is working at full speed and reliability. In my climate, they come on so rarely that they sieze up and are often unplugged so as not to blow the fuse, which also disables the compressor clutch.

Thank you JTO for your quick reply
I would try WD40 but prior to squirting this but tomorrow they will disable the motor to see what causes the problem .I called my Jaguar Specialist too he said he would come to see and bring some parts with him as well It's a intermittent problem for now but I don't know if it might turn into a "continuable" one
Thank you
